POSITION SUMMARY Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Director or clinic manager in collaboration with clinic physicians, mid-level providers, and surgery schedulers, the Orthopedic Nurse Navigator is an advocate, educator, and experienced guide for the surgical patient, as well as family members, through the total joint replacement continuum. The Orthopedic Nurse Navigator (ONN) will coordinate and oversee all aspects of patient care by working closely with providers, patients, and families pre-operatively, post-operatively, and post-discharge to ensure that patients receive timely high-quality care. The ONN assumes responsibility and accountability for optimal clinical outcomes and coordination of care activities for patients receiving orthopedic services, through joint replacement, general orthopedic surgery, and fracture care programs.
