JOB SUMMARY:  This position is accountable for providing competent nursing care and is responsible for coordination of the patient’s plan of care though assessment planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing interventions that lead to established outcomes. This position practices under the direction of the designated nurse executive, within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Children's polices. Discovery is a 35-bed, acute care medical unit. General duty nursing care is provided to the acutely ill pediatric patient on Discovery. Primary population served include GI patients, Infectious Diseases, Metabolic Diagnosis, and acute viral illnesses.
