Position Summary: The Registered Nurse II in the Helen and Max Rosenthal Cardiovascular Acute Care Unit under general supervision, serves as a registered nurse, conducts patient assessments, participates in the development of the plan of care, implements and evaluates care according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs. Collaborates with other health care team members in the delivery of care. The Helen and Max Rosenthal Cardiovascular Acute Care Unit is a 21-bed unit. Nurses on this unit provide care for patients who have congenital or acquired heart disease and those awaiting transplant requiring intervention, evaluation and need intensive monitoring during this process. Successful candidates who are selected to work in this dynamic environment will enjoy a challenging opportunity to work with the most complex pediatric cardiac populations.

Minimum Qualifications: 2 years of acute pediatric or adult inpatient telemetry experience. 2 years of acute pediatric cardiac experience preferred. Broad knowledge of patient care principles and equipment; CHLA patient care policies and procedures. Ability to critically assess and evaluate the effectiveness of patient care; maintain a calm demeanor and assist in crises and emergencies; prioritize patient care tasks for complex patient care; communicate tactfully, professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing.

Education/Licensure/Certifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. AHA CPR and PALS and CA RN license required.
