It’s Work That Matters.The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for Palliative Care is an advanced practice nurse who provides nursing and medical services to patients, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, as well as the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. Management of pain acute and chronic medicine, consulting, ordering as well as conducting and interpreting appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescription of pharmacologic agents and treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies in a cost efficient manner. Works autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients’ health care problems. Serves as health care resources, interdisciplinary consultants and patient advocates. Demonstrates commitment to a patient and family focused model of care. Qualifications: Masters Degree in Nursing required. License, Registration or Certification: 2-3 years NP Acute Care Pediatric experience, Pain Medicine. Current California Registered Nurse License and current certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Current BCLS and PALS certification required through the American Heart Association. National certification as appropriate - Required: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing for “hold out as a Nurse Practitioner” as defined in Section 1482, Nurse Practice Act, Business and Professional Code. Eligible for Furnishing License - required.
