Position Summary: The Operating Room Coordinator will oversee surgical care in the Urology service line. The Urology Coordinator will be responsible for the management of the service in the Main OR and the ASC. Responsibilities include managing the service-specific equipment including Da Vinci Robot, implants and supplies for the service as well as the preference cards. The OR coordinator works closely with the OR Educator and Lead Nurses to ensure that new staff who are orienting and novice staff who are learning, experience the surgical procedures necessary to provide a well-rounded experience in the service. It will be expected that the qualified OR Coordinator be able to circulate and scrub most cases.
This will be a 10 hour, 4 day a week shift.
Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of three years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in the OR and have an expert level knowledge of patient care principles and equipment. The OR Coordinator should have basic knowledge of the principles of conducting clinical research, performance improvement, and project management and have the ability to maintain a calm demeanor and direct responses to crises and emergencies.
Education/Licensure/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing and current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California. American Heart Association BLS and PALS required. CNOR Certification Preferred.
