The Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in the Neonatal Infant Critical Care Unit provides clinical leadership and expertise for population-based nursing care to integrate evidence based care, advance clinical practice, achieve optimal nurse-sensitive patient outcomes and facilitate transitions of care. The CNS in the NICCU provides leadership and mentoring to support the interprofessional team in the evaluation and implementation of evidence-based therapies and research. The CNS will function independently as needed in all aspects of work area clinical operations on a 24-hour basis. The CNS will collaborate with other work area leaders in the supervision of unit staff and implementation of projects to achieve the goals and objectives of the work area.
Experience required:
5+ years of recent pediatric experience in a NICU level IV is required. Previous supervisory and CNS experience preferred
Education/ Certification Required:
Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school required. Current professional California RN Licensure
BLS,PALS and Clinical Nurse Specialist certification required.
NRP required for NICCU
National Certification Required
