The APP Manager of Clinical Services in the Ambulatory Clinics will oversee the APPs in Ambulatory and assumes primary responsibility and oversight for all aspects of their work areas, including establishing and maintaining the CHLA culture of care as well as operational, clinical and educational functions. Engages in strategic planning and establishes programs that facilitate the development of staff and the delegation of portions of this responsibility to subordinates. Analyzes and utilizes outcomes data to drive performance improvement and quality improvement efforts in accordance with regulatory and accreditation requirements. Fosters a team approach to shared responsibilities, while functioning independently as needed in all aspects of the work area. Empowers other work area staff to achieve the goals and objectives of the work area. Supports the development of skills of the staff to continuously provide best-practice care. Ensures that all policies/procedures are age and/or developmentally appropriate.

Experience Required:

5 - 10 years experience as a Physician Assistant or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with 3-5 years of Leadership Supervisory and Fiscal Experience.

Expert clinical knowledge of unit’s patient population. Ability to lead others. Good organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, both verbally and in writing.

Previous supervisory and fiscal management experience preferred

Education Required/ Licensure/ Certification Required:

Masters of Science degree in Nursing from an N.L.N. accredited graduate school of nursing required.

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing for “hold out as a Nurse Practitioner” as defined in Section 1482, Nurse Practice Act, Business and Professional Code.

Current California Registered Nurse License and current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.

PA: Licensure and Certification in the State of California required. Certification as a Physician Assistant by a nationally accredited Physician Assistant organization (e.g., NCCPA or ARC-PA) is required. A health-related Master's degree is required.


National Certification as an NP in specialty field.
