Experience REQUIRED:
Two (2) years of current staff development or health care education experience Five (5) years of relevant clinical nursing experience

Education/training REQUIRED:
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing Masters Degree required in Nursing, Education or other program (MBA, etc.)
Will consider candidates without a Masters Degree who will become actively enrolled in a Masters Degree program (nursing or affiliated field).
Candidates must achieve formal acceptance in a program within one year and complete the degree requirements within 5 years (of acceptance into the program) to remain in the position. **unless grandfathered under previous requirements
Education/training PREFERRED:
Certification in Professional Development or clinical specialty
Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for promoting best practice through staff development and education ensuring optimal patient outcomes therefore the Nurse Educator is expected to spend at least 10% of the time functioning as a Clinical Nurse in designated area of specialty.

Has full authority and accountability for direction and leadership of program planning, guideline development, setting of practice standards within the confines of organizations/divisions/units mission, goals and objectives.

Skills:
-Nurse Educator for the Operating Room, must have intraoperative experience
-Adult and Pediatric patient groups
-Clinical requirement of minimum 10% in clinical function; may be requested into staffing if needed (break/lunch or full day)
-Primary schedule is M-F 0700-1530 (position allows for 8 or 10 hour shifts; dependent upon unit needs). Some rotations required to meet education needs of the units.
-Will provide unit education coverage for adult and pediatric populations (primary cost center focus: Main ORs; cross coverage for others as necessary)
-Will partner with other Educators to facilitate education programs including but not limited to Periop 101, and externship
-Will place/facilitate student and other observation experiences for the OR
-Will partner with the education and onboarding team to facilitate department onboarding
