Experience PREFERRED:
Experience as a LPN in either an acute care setting or in an OR/ procedural area functioning in a scrub role or similar setting.

Independent action(s) required:
Functions under the direction of RN or independent practitioner in providing direct patient care, emotional support and problem-solving, all-in accordance with hospital, nursing, and unit policies, procedures, guidelines, and protocols.
Requires prior approval or guidance from supervisor: time/schedule changes, legal issues, directed care which deviates from the standard; and identification of educational resources to meet developmental needs.
Job duties may include the handling, transportation, access to and/or contact with medications, blood, blood products, and related supplies.

Additional position requirements:
Licensed Practical Nurse work and take on-call responsibilities all three shifts, weekends and holidays.
Individual shift rotation, on-call rotation, and schedules will be established by the Director/Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator.
Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet unit requirements and/or as needed.
Assignments include performing this role in all perioperative operating rooms, procedure rooms (SPU, Cardiac Cath room).
May be assigned in other units providing competency based nursing care or tasks.
