Job Summary: The Trauma Injury Prevention Coordinator will work to reduce the burden of injury of diverse populations utilizing evidence-informed programming. The Trauma Injury Prevention Coordinator prioritizes injury prevention work based on trends identified in the trauma registry and local epidemiological data, while building partnerships with community organizations supporting injury prevention efforts. The Trauma Injury Prevention Coordinator will also raise the trauma center's visibility through engaging media outreach and community trauma education, and will coordinate Upstate's Trauma Survivors' Network as a means of tertiary trauma prevention.
Minimum Qualifications:

NYS Licensed/Registered (or eligible) RN or NYS certified (or eligible) EMT or Paramedic required. Associates degree in a health related field & 4 years of health-related experience or a Bachelors in a health related field & 2 years of health-related experience required. CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment.

*Will also consider candidates who are not a RN or EMT/Paramedic but have an Associates degree in a health related field & 4 years of health-related experience or a Bachelors in a health related field & 2 years of health-related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience coordinating events, teaching, supervising others, and evidence-based programming preferred. Experience with trauma patients and trauma systems preferred. Master's degree preferred.

Work Days:

Week days with occasional weekend shift
