Job Summary: The Stroke Outreach Quality Coordinator assumes responsibility for the coordination of stroke services for University Hospital's Stroke Program. Reporting to the Stroke Program Manager, the position will interact and work closely with entities of the stroke program, including the Medical Director of Stroke Services, Department of Neurology, Department of Neurosurgery, Department of Radiology, Department of Emergency Services, Hospital Administration, and the Stroke Team. Responsibilities include, identifying, establishing and maintaining relationships with affiliated referring hospitals staff, Emergency Medical Services agencies and communities throughout our region. Assist referring hospitals in meeting guidelines of the Stroke Program Regulatory Requirements for primary and comprehensive status and the American Heart Associations Get With The Guidelines recommendations. The incumbent will also be responsible for the assessment, provision, and evaluation of education provided to Emergency Medical Services, referring hospitals, and community organizations. Additionally the incumbent will be responsible for the implementation and ongoing quality evaluation of the Telemedicine services for Stroke program. The Stroke Outreach Quality Coordinator must be able to work across multiple disciplines and bring together to work as a comprehensive trauma system.
Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered (or eligible) RN, Bachelor's degree in Nursing plus two years satisfactory post licensure acute care RN experience OR Associate's degree in Nursing plus four years satisfactory post licensure acute care RN experience required. CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment. Excellent written/oral communication, organizational, interpersonal, and computer skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous work experience in specialty desired. Supervisory experience preferred.
