POSITION SUMMARY

Position Summary:
-
Provides care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Assembles needed supplies/equipment before and during the wound care procedure while maintaining standards of care established. The technician sets up the procedure, anticipates the physicians needs and hands supplies and instruments to the physician/nurse. Assists the nurses in providing quality patient care and informs the nurse about any significant changes, including taking vital signs, transporting patients, and helping the nurse with interventions. The technician also interacts with other departments, performs cleaning, orders and restocks supplies and facilitates sterilization of instruments.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education

High school or equivalent

Completion of an anatomy and physiology course preferred

Required Registration/License/Certification

BLS certification to be obtained within 90 days of employment

Certified Surgical Tech (CRT) certification preferred

Salina Regional Health Center (SRHC) is a 393 licensed bed, comprehensive acute care, award winning, non-profit hospital with Level IIl Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Certifications.
