Job Summary:

The Associate Director of Nursing for Perioperative Services and Family Birth Center at the Upstate Community Hospital will have administrative responsibility for defined perioperative areas of the Upstate Community Hospital (Pre-Admissions Testing, Surgery Center, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Operating Room, Sterile Processing Department and Family Birth Center - Labor & Delivery and Post-partum). Will assume overall responsibility for the implementation of the vision, mission, standards of care of the patient care services within his/hers defined areas of responsibility. Specific duties include: Leadership, management and evaluation of clinical operations, customer and staff satisfaction, quality management, certification and accreditation activities, promotion of evidence based practice and professional development for self and staff. Additional responsibilities include: financial stewardship with budgeting and nursing staffing and growth of community partnerships.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered (or eligible) Registered Nurse required. Bachelors degree in Nursing required. Masters degree in Nursing or healthcare related field required. Minimum of seven years post licensure acute care RN experience to include five years of progressively responsible nursing management/supervisory experience required. Excellent written/oral communication, organizational, interpersonal, computer, presentation and analytical skills required. CPR-BLS required by time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous procedural, perioperative or Maternal Child experience preferred. Contract and service line development experience preferred. Demonstrated strong skills in collaborative relationship and project work preferred. Professional nursing certification in leadership or nursing specialty preferred.
