Job Summary: The Clinical Practice Nurse Consultant (CPNC) - Medical/Surgical will provide centralized clinical mentorship to include the coordination of educational activities, quality improvement, and design with the focus on the development of the expertise of patient care staff. Will also provide consultation to other service areas to assist in the provision of education to promote and support high quality patient care in a variety of settings. The Clinical Practice Nurse Consultant (CPNC) exemplifies the Upstate mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Upstate policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed Registered Nurse or eligible required. Master of Science in Nursing and 4 years satisfactory clinical experience providing direct patient care required. Outstanding oral, written communication, and presentation skills required. CPR-Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.

Preferred Qualifications:

National certification in a related field strongly preferred. Advanced clinical knowledge and skills preparing Clinical Practice Nurse Consultant (CPNC) to provide indirect care to patients as well as a component of direct patient care through staff education strongly preferred. Formal or informal bedside teaching experience preferred.

Work Days:

Monday - Friday days, with evenings/weekends coverage
