POSITION SUMMARY

Position Summary:
-
• Under the supervision of a clinical educator, registered nurse, clinical coach, or supervisor in charge of the department, the Specialty Tech Student assists patients in the hospital setting to provide quality care. This includes taking vital signs, transporting patients, clerical support, observation & surveillance to prevent patient injury, and helping the professional nurse with interventions. The Specialty Tech student also interacts with other departments as needed and performs cleaning, and restocks supplies, all under the direction of their appropriate supervisor. This position is a part of Salina Regional Health Center's Specialty Tech Training which includes enrollment in the program.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education
-
High school graduate or GED preferred
-
Upon hire will actively participate in the Specialty Technician Training program through the SRHC Organizational Development Department.

Minimum Experience

Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Required Registration/License/Certification
-
Basic Life Support certification from either American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Health Care Provider, or Basic Life Support (American Heart Association-Health Care Provider).
