Job Summary: The Ambulatory Nurse Manager for the Cancer Center-Hematology/Oncology department assumes primary leadership and management of defined clinical nursing areas to facilitate and deliver comprehensive quality nursing care and to manage the environment in which care is given. Major functions include: goals, planning, customer service/marketing, standards, certification and accreditation, administrative management, budget/cost containment, communication, and education. Ensures adherence to hospital or department and university policies and to nursing policies, procedures, standards, and practices. The Ambulatory Nurse Manager exemplifies the Upstate mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Upstate policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Nursing or Masters degree in Nursing required. NYS License/Registration (or eligible) Registered Nurse required. Three years post-licensure acute care RN experience (preferably in specialty area) to include leadership experience required. Excellent written/oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required. CPR-BLS required by time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Nursing Leadership certification strongly preferred. Other specialty based certifications for nursing leadership (i.e. CCRN, CEN) are also encouraged and supported. Masters degree preferred.
