Job Summary: The Genetics Counseling RN Coordinator coordinates new patient genetic counseling appointments and care for follow up patients. Reviews clinical information to ensure referral is appropriate. Reviews clinical information to ensure all available information has been obtained and if not, communicates with referring physician/office to obtain additional information. Tracks proportion of positive genetic mutations and variants obtained. Participates in Multi-disciplinary discussions regarding clinical trial participation and molecular tumor boards. Assists Medical Director with submission of review papers, case reports, and meeting abstracts/posters. Assists with literature references for case reviews and papers. Coordination of lectures.
Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered RN (or eligible), Bachelors Degree in Nursing and a minimum of 2 years of RN experience or Associates Degree in Nursing and 4 years of RN experience required. Excellent nursing assessment skills, written and oral communication skills, organizational/time management and team skills, and computer literacy required. CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Patient teaching and genetics counseling experience preferred.
