Our Nurse Residency Program gives you the opportunity to choose from nearly any clinical area to find the best fit for your professional goals. It refines and enhances the skills you already have by pairing you with a strong mentor to support your growth along the way. After completing our 3-6 month new graduate orientation program, you'll have more practical experience and more confidence in your hands-on nursing skills.

Vidant Health Nursing Professional Practice Model is Based on Dr. Kristen Swanson’s Theory of Caring, this model provides nurses at Vidant Medical Center principles for daily care of patients and interaction with team members. The Nurse Residency Program at Vidant Medical Center (VMC) achieved accreditation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation Practice Transition Programs through July 2024. VMC earned this accreditation for its outstanding work in nurse education.
