Position Summary: Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Heart Institute is seeking an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (ACPNP) to help serve the growing need of the regional pediatric population, delivering world class pediatric cardiac care. Under the supervision of the Pediatric Heart Failure Program Physician Director and lead Heart Center Nurse Practitioner, develop the NP role to expand the provider pool in the care of patients requiring the breadth of inpatient and outpatient pediatric heart failure management.
Services include but are not limited to ordering, conducting and interpreting appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescription of pharmacologic agents and treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies in a cost - efficient manner. Works autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients’ health care problems. Serve as health care resources, interdisciplinary consultants and patient advocates. Demonstrates commitment to a patient and family focused model of care.
Minimum Qualifications Three years pediatric RN experience, critical care experience, and eexperience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease.
Education/Licensure/Certifications Master’s Degree in Nursing required. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing for “hold out as a Nurse Practitioner” as defined in Section 1482, Nurse Practice Act, Business and Professional Code. Current California Registered Nurse License and current certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Current BCLS and PALS certification required. National certification as appropriate - preferred. Eligible for Furnishing License - required.
