Job Summary: | The Trauma Program Manager assumes responsibility for the development, implementation, and evaluation of Upstate University Hospitals Level One Trauma Program. Responsibilities are varied among administrative duties to include organization of services and systems necessary for a multidisciplinary approach to providing care to the injured patient, the participation and oversight of the following: the trauma registry, performance improvement process, injury prevention, outreach, and preparation for verification as a Level I trauma center with the American College of Surgeons. The Trauma Program Manager also serves as a regional resource as a trauma program expert and is actively involved in REMAC, RTAC and STAC. This position interacts and works closely with entities of the trauma system including the Trauma Medical Director, Department of Surgery, Hospital Administration, and the Trauma Team. Reporting to the Trauma Program Manager are the trauma registrars, Trauma Outreach Coordinator, Trauma PI Coordinator, Trauma Injury Prevention Coordinator, and administrative assistant. The Trauma Program Manager will be active in regional, state, and national organizations. The Trauma Program Manager must be able to work across multiple disciplines and bring them together to work as a comprehensive trauma system from pre-hospital to discharge. |

Minimum Qualifications: |
NYS licensed/registered (or eligible) RN required. Bachelors degree in Nursing and three years satisfactory post licensure RN acute care experience required. CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment. |
Preferred Qualifications: |
One year supervisory/management experience preferred. Previous work experience in specialty desirable. |
