Position Summary: The Supervisor’s primary responsibility is the assigned shift work area within the Emergency Department. The Supervisor plans programs that facilitate the development of staff and will delegate portions of this responsibility to subordinates. While maintaining a team approach to the shared responsibilities, functions independently as needed in all aspects of the work area. Supervises support staff. Collaborates with other work area staff to achieve the goals and objectives of the work area. Maintains skills of the staff to initiate and carry out ethical discourse. Ensures that all policies/procedures are age and /or developmentally appropriate. The Supervisor of Clinical Operations will be available to all practicing physicians to facilitate scheduling, staffing, clinical, resource needs, etc., while ensuring effective patient throughput and a customer friendly environment. This is a 10 Hourr shift starting at 1p-11:30p

Minimum Qualifications: 2+ years of recent emergency department experience. Previous supervisory and fiscal management experience required. Experience initiating and evaluating operational initiatives to improve quality, throughput, and care. Thorough knowledge of the principles pertaining to the area of responsibility. Ability to lead others and apply organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully verbally and in writing.

Education/Licensure/Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required. Master’s Degree preferred. CA RN license, BLS and PALS required. National Certification desired, certification can be obtained within 6 month of employment.
